Lithium Battery Recycling

We are currently partnering with the University of Ottawa on a research and development project focused on improving the recycling of lithium batteries. Our goal is to identify safer, natural materials that can be used for the leaching and recovery of lithium and other valuable metals from end-of-life lithium batteries. This approach would be a significant improvement over current processes, which often rely on strong acids, as it would be safer and more environmentally friendly. In addition to improving the sustainability and safety of lithium battery recycling, we also hope to find innovative ways to utilize waste materials. To achieve this, we plan to produce the natural materials needed for our recycling process from currently unused waste streams. Not only does this provide additional use for these materials, but may also reduce costs. Our project has the potential to significantly improve the sustainability and efficiency of lithium battery recycling while finding new ways to utilize waste materials .
