ERS International Accomplishes Highest Standard in Electronics Recycling by Achieving e-Stewards Certification

ERS International Brings Responsible Electronics Recycling

to Chicago Businesses and Residents

Chicago, Illinois. August 27th, 2013 – e-Stewards® is proud to announce that ERS International has joined the elite group of e-Stewards certified electronic recyclers. e-Stewards recyclers adhere to the world’s highest standards for social and environmentally responsible recycling.

The Basel Action Network (BAN), a nonprofit organization focused on preventing irresponsible trade of toxic waste, created the e-Stewards certification. Through a third-party audit process, e-Stewards certification ensures ERS International’s customers that data is secure, no prison labor is used, toxic electronic waste (e-waste) is not exported to developing nations, and e-waste does not end up in landfills or incinerators.

“We are delighted to see ERS International add its name to the growing list of e-Stewards electronics recycling companies recognized as industry leaders. They are among the recyclers that are willing to go the extra mile to be truly socially and environmentally responsible with their customers’ e-waste,” said BAN’s Executive Director, Jim Puckett.

ERS International has been helping companies “Do What’s Right” since 2003. In less than a decade, ERS International has grown globally with 11 locations in 6 countries.

“With the addition of our new state-of-the-art facility in Chicago, we continue to help people ‘Do What’s Right’ with an innovative, one-stop, environmentally responsible recycling solution,” said Alfea Principe, Global Director of Corporate Compliance at ERS International. “Leading organizations around the world trust ERS International to recycle their unwanted electronic equipment due to our emphasis on detailed audited processes, innovative technology and the reliable strength of our security.”
